A big step forward for customers and the MPL team as the Bodor I7 Laser arrives

At MPL Fabrications, 2026 started with another investment which is the 4th large investment in as many years!

After nearly 12 months of planning, installation and preparation, our new Bodor I7 laser cutting machine is now in place and ready to transform the way we work.

This isn’t just a new piece of equipment. It’s a major step forward for our customers, our team, and the future of the business.

Why this investment matters

Previously, we would sub-contract laser cut components out to our business partners, and while this worked, it meant extra lead times, more transport, and less control over our own schedules.

By bringing laser cutting fully in-house, we now have:

  • Faster turnaround times
  • Greater control over quality and deadlines
  • Increased production capacity
  • A smoother workflow from start to finish

For customers, that means a more reliable, hassle-free process all round.

What can the Bodor I7 laser do?

The Bodor I7 brings powerful cutting capabilities to the MPL workshop, including:

  • 1.5m x 3m cutting bed
  • Mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium up to 8mm
  • Up to 10mm for specific smaller jobs
  • Galvanised steel up to 3mm

While the machine is capable of cutting thicker materials, we’ve optimised it for the material ranges most of our customers use day-to-day. This is to ensure safe handling, efficient output, and consistent quality.
