Taking on the responsibility of leading MPL Fabrications has been both a privilege and a challenge.

Leading MPL Fabrications - a personal perspective

As a family-run business with a strong history in Coventry, MPL has always been built on hard work, resilience and a commitment to doing things properly. Stepping into the role of leading MPL Fabrications meant continuing that legacy while also preparing the business for the future.

MPL has always had a reputation for quality fabrication and reliable service.

When I took over the day-to-day running of the business, my focus was clear.  I wanted to:

  • Protect what makes MPL special
  • Support the team
  • Invest in the future

The strength of MPL has always been its people. Many of the team have been with the business for years, bringing experience that simply can’t be replaced and I value this dedication, skill and commitment more than I can put into words - our team are everything our business represents.

Like many manufacturing businesses, we’ve faced our share of challenges. From economic uncertainty to rising costs and supply chain disruption, the landscape hasn’t always been easy nor straightforward. One of the biggest challenges has been balancing day-to-day production demands with the need to invest in new technology and improve efficiency. But those challenges have also driven us to adapt, improve and think long-term.

Over the past few years, we’ve made a number of key investments in machinery and infrastructure, replacing older machines and bringing in completely new services, including our new fibre laser cutting machine.

Now that we have more processes in-house, this has allowed us to:

  • Improve turnaround times
  • Increase capacity
  • Reduce reliance on external suppliers
  • Offer a more complete service to our customers
  • Improve our carbon footprint even further - and pass on those improvements down the supply chain

It’s all about making life easier for the businesses we work with.

Sustainability is becoming increasingly important across manufacturing. We’ve taken steps to reduce our environmental impact through tree planting initiatives, EV charging on-site, energy efficient upgrades and bringing more services in-house.  Working with other local businesses means we’ve also reduced our transport costs and we’ve been able to our support regional supply chain.

Being based in Coventry, we’ve always believed in supporting our local community. From sponsoring local teams and getting involved in community projects to supporting events like Elliot’s testimonial match at Bedworth United, it’s important for us to give something back.

The future for MPL Fabrications is positive. We’ll continue to invest in technology, support and develop our team, strengthen relationships with customers and expand our capacities. Manufacturing in the UK is evolving, and we’re committed to staying at the forefront while keeping the values that have defined MPL for years.

Leading MPL Fabrications is first and foremost about the people and pride in the work we do.  And naturally, our partnerships and production reflect those values.

We know our customers rely on us to deliver and that’s something we never take lightly.
